The PGA of Finland was founded in 1985 and is one of the member countries of the European PGA Alliance. Finnish PGA office is currently situated at Pitäjänmäki about 10 km North from downtown Helsinki.

Role
The role of the PGA of Finland is to promote the delivery of professional golf services to the golfers of Finland. The PGA plays an active role in providing a training program for the qualification of Club Professionals as well as promoting professional golf tournaments.
Objective
One of the primary objectives of the PGA is to promote and enhance the status of all the PGA Professionals. The PGA also assists its Members to attain and maintain qualifications in teaching and other golf services of the highest possible standard. In addition, the PGA’s objective is to assist its Members to obtain employment opportunities nationally as well as internationally and to promote interest in the game of golf.
Members
Today the PGA of Finland has over 200 members of which most are Club Professionals. These PGA Professionals are responsible for instructional services for most of Finland’s 100+ golf clubs and courses.

Education
The PGA manages, in co-operation with the Golf Union, education for both trainees and qualified professionals. The Trainee Programme is a combination of three separate courses over a three year period and meets the required European standards. In addition, the PGA organizes seminars and clinics to give all members the opportunity to meet and learn from experts in teaching, marketing and other aspects of the professional golf scene.
Tournaments
The Finnish PGA is responsible for organizing the Finnish Tour. In addition, the PGA organizes several other events including the Finnish PGA Championship, Pro-Am’s, etc.
